NEC is committed to giving back to society and supports a number of community and environmental initiatives.
NEC Make-a-Difference Drive
NEC’s Make-a-Difference Drive is a world-wide NEC corporate activity whereby employees are encouraged to participate in a multitude of volunteer activities.
In total, more than 1,070,000 NEC employees across the world have been involved in the Make-a-Difference Drive since it was established in 1999.
Make-a-Difference Drive is held during October and November. This year, NEC Australia is participating by supporting Movember, which aims to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, particularly prostate cancer and depression. Find out more about Movember at www.movember.com.au
Disaster relief appeals
NEC Australia has recently provided corporate contributions to the following disaster relief appeals:
- Red Cross Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal in 2011.
- Red Cross and the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal, following the floods that affected large parts of Victoria and Queensland in late 2010 and into 2011.
Australian Masters of the Amateurs golf tournament
NEC Australia is a supporter of the Australian Master of the Amateurs golf tournament, a 72-hole championship, considered by many of the world’s leading professional and amateur golfers to be the finest Amateur Golf Championship in the world. The next tournament takes place from 8-13 January 2012 at the Royal Melbourne Golf Course.
