NEC’s Mobile Access Controller (MAC) enables mobile vehicle communications across multiple networks. It is an integrated communications platform which provides fleet operators with advanced voice and data services.
In 2009 we deployed MAC into the Department of Justice Victoria vehicle fleet for use by Sheriffs Officers. A derivative of the MAC has also been deployed with Telstra and is used their Exchange Emergency Backup Communications system (RedPhone).
MAC combines the unique advantage of multiple radio networks with intelligent call routing and management features. MAC is a hardware and software solution providing in-vehicle equipment, handheld radios and a management and reporting system.
Additionally, NEC can provide a full installation, maintenance and support programme.
MAC can provide you with:
- emergency services communications
- worksafe communications.
MAC can be deployed as:
- emergency communication system
- mobile data solution.
Integrated communications platform with advanced voice and data services.
Core MAC features include:
- Multiple radio networks
- 3G Cellular
- Satellite
- UHF/VHF
- SMR. MMR and more
- network bridging between radio networks
- built-in GPS and automatic vehicle location
- common user interface for reduced operational and training costs
- MAC chooses the most appropriate network based on call cost, signal strength or other configurable business rules
