NEC will consider sponsorship requests in a range of categories where possible – but please try to give us six to eight months’ notice.
We expect our sponsorship partners to invest resources in working with us – to achieve the sponsorship objectives, and to promote the partnership and NEC’s involvement and contribution to the activity. We consider all requests carefully to ensure they meet business, marketing and community goals, and are also within budget.
We assess each proposal against set criteria:
- a link with our brand and business values
- naming rights or major sponsor identification
- opportunities for cross-promotion or joint marketing
- opportunities for NEC staff to be involved in the event (beyond ticketing)
- a focus on local communities and community groups
- relevance to our target audience
- environmental and social responsibility
- opportunities for customer hospitality and networking with key members of the community, business or government.
For us to consider proposals, they should include:
- details of the event or program, including timelines
- contact details of the applicant and any credentials
- a list of any other sponsors and parties involved in the event or program
- a list of the benefits to NEC
- target audience details and other research to support the event or program
- the range of sponsorship levels available, including costs and benefits
- how the event will be evaluated to ensure it meets set objectives and forecasts.
The consideration process
- Applicants lodge proposals in writing, through our website at www.nec.com.au, addressing the above criteria. We cannot consider verbal requests.
- Our Corporate Promotions Manager assesses each proposal.
- If your proposal does not meet our criteria, we let you know.
- If your proposal passes the initial assessment, appropriate members of our management team consider it for approval.
- We let you know the status of your proposal within four weeks of the date you lodged it.
- We may ask for further information at any time to help us evaluate your proposal.
- If we accept your sponsorship, you must complete a post-event evaluation report, and present it to NEC to determine if the event or program met the objectives, and to what extent.
- Our Corporate Promotions Manager must approve all materials featuring NEC's name or logo before they are used or published.
