NEC Business Solutions managing director Riaki Tanaka today described the launch of the Victorian Government’s Japan Country Strategy as a ‘blue print of unheralded economic opportunity of consequential significance’ for Victoria’s ICT industry.
According to Mr. Tanaka, the Japan Country Strategy is an excellent initiative designed to capitalise on the success of the Bracks Government’s involvement at the World Expo in Aichi in Japan earlier this year.
“The Government’s strategy should enhance the growth of economic, political and cultural prosperity with Japan while creating a passage of intellectual exchange.”
In June, the Victorian Government along with NEC hosted a delegation of some 50 ICT-based SME’s to Japan. The trip was designed to foster business relationships between Japanese enterprise and Victorian ICT companies.
“The trip’s overwhelming success reinforced the significant importance trade missions hold for strengthening economic ties and the benefits it creates for the State overall,”’ he said.
He said as Australia’s leading ICT solutions services provider, NEC is fully supportive of the Victorian Government’s initiative toward strengthening economic, cultural and political links with Japan.
“The Victorian Government has embarked on a positive economic and strategically bold initiative that is bound to sure up and grow Victoria’s ICT industry - and the Japan Country Strategy should deliver exactly what it is expected to do,” Mr. Tanaka said.
According to Mr. Tanaka, NEC shares a similar vision to the Victorian Government. “As an Australian company, NEC like the Government is keen to see a sophisticated and diverse economic relationship fostered with Japan - especially one that focuses on knowledge-intensive industries where both share complementary capabilities.”
He said, “The Japan Country Strategy has the potential to assist in increase exports of products and services to Japan as well as facilitating further Japanese investment and reinvestment back into Victoria.”
Mr. Tanaka said, NEC applauds the Minister for Manufacturing and Export, André Haermeyer and the Victorian Government for their vision to create an environment where Victoria will look to derive substantial economic benefit from the building blocks being laid for growth and prosperity and the help it will give Victoria’s ICT sector to take the next step in its evolutionary process.
