Davide Iacovitti, Product Manager Applications and Content, NEC Australia said: “We’re saying to companies - we can provide everything you need to run your business through one portal, simply and cheaply with complete integration across the lot. We’re providing all the flexibility and cost effectiveness of the SaaS model, with telephony, collaboration and integration that hasn’t been available before.”
Businesses will be able to pick and choose a portfolio of applications based on their business need, with fully integrated telephony and unified communications ‘click to call’ functionality across each. The software will be accessed via a single sign-on enabled online portal providing integration and collaboration across all products with a monthly license fee and complete flexibility over what software they need and when.
The offering will be available to any business in Australia via any ISP – not tying businesses into any one service provider. NEC Australia will deliver the service through its 240 strong channel community.
Iacovitti continued: “The problem for businesses today is that, with so many SaaS offerings available, it becomes difficult to share information across the applications and makes it more complex to set up, integrate and manage. We’re taking all this pain away, allowing small and mid-sized businesses to have everything they need in one place, with one simple monthly subscription and full collaboration between different tools.”
Developed in Australia at NEC’s Applications Centre facility in Melbourne, the service will be made available in Australia first and then rolled out to other countries worldwide. NEC is already in conversations with SPs in Europe and Asia about offering the service using globally licensed local language software offerings.
NEC will host the service offering locally in its Melbourne and Springfield datacentres.
Independent application vendors and developers will be able to add their software to the service and NEC plans to increase the number of offerings significantly over time.
Applications will start from $5 per user per month.
