Safeguarding society and reducing reoffending

The role of Justice and Corrections has evolved greatly in recent years. The industry is facing a number of significant challenges, including the growth in prison populations and insufficient existing infrastructure.

As of 30 June 2022, the incarcerated population in Australia was approximately 41,000. Overcrowding of prisons places pressure on the system to deliver effective rehabilitation, vocational and educational programs, all of which are crucial to the successful re-integration of inmates into the community post-release.

Working with correctional centre operators across Australia for more than 20 years, NEC has developed a solid understanding of the sensitive nature of correctional operating environments and the custodial protocols and security controls required to deliver services directly into live correctional facilities.
