NEC Australia extends partnership with AFL Essendon Football Club to include both the womens and mens teams

NEC Australia has proudly strengthened its partnership with the Essendon Football Club, which will now include backing the Bombers’ AFLW team on and off the field.

The two-year partnership was officially signed off in August at Essendon’s high-performance training base, the NEC Hangar, in the buildup to the 2023 AFLW season.

The partnership will provide support and career opportunities for Essendon’s AFLW players interested in the technology sector, including training and employment to help establish and advance their careers in the industry. It’s an investment in the future of women’s football and a commitment to furthering the development of high-performance players at the NEC Hangar.

To celebrate the partnership and to help inspire the next generation of AFLW players, Essendon stars Maddy Prespakis, Brooke Brown and Stephanie Cain hosted a clinic with grade five and six female students from Tullamarine Primary School.

This commitment to the AFLW team builds on our existing partnership with Essendon’s AFL mens team.In 2020 NEC Australia entered into a major multi-season partnership with AFL's Essendon Football Club. NEC celebrated 50 years in Australia by partnering with Essendon and a sporting code as loved and wide-reaching as the AFL.

This strategic partnership presented an opportunity for the Club to strengthen its commitment to innovation in technology, while also transforming the customer experience for members and supporters and exploring opportunities and technologies to improve team performance across our high performance and data/analytics departments.

NEC’s Commercial Partnership with EFC

Central to the partnership is NEC’s naming rights sponsorship of The Bombers’ training and administrative base - ‘The NEC Hangar’. With the partnership, NEC also became the official ICT Solutions Partner, Commercial Partner and Premium Network Partner for Essendon Football Club.

The Commercial Partnership includes match day advertising at Essendon’s home games at Marvel Stadium and the MCG.

In 2022 we celebrated our match day by celebrating and highlighting our partnership with Invictus Australia and in 2023 with the Dylan Alcott Foundation.

This partnership highlights the many areas of NEC’s expertise in servicing business and government sectors, through our involvement in the Essendon Football Club business network.
