The Challenge

Fingerprint capture in Timor-Leste was largely manual and paper-based, resulting in inconsistent fingerprint quality, slow investigative workflows, and limited ability to share data with international systems such as Interpol. These constraints made it difficult to support complex investigations and cross-border cooperation.

The Solution

NEC Australia partnered with the Australian Federal Police to deploy NEC Livescan fingerprint technology across key law enforcement agencies, enabling high-quality digital capture, international standards compliance, and improved forensic capability supported by hands-on training.
