NEC Australia has proudly strengthened its partnership with the Essendon Football Club, which will now include backing the Bombers’ AFLW team on and off the field.
The two-year partnership was officially signed off at Essendon’s high-performance training base, the NEC Hangar, in the buildup to the 2023 AFLW season.
The partnership will provide support and career opportunities for Essendon’s AFLW players interested in the technology sector, including training and employment to help establish and advance their careers in the industry.
NEC Australia CEO, Jason Price, said the partnership is a testament to the shared vision of fostering growth and excellence, both on and off the field.
“NEC is proud to be strengthening its partnership with Essendon and backing the club’s AFLW team for the next two seasons,” Price said.
“This genuine partnership is an investment in the future of women’s football and a commitment to furthering the development of high-performance players at the NEC Hangar.”
“The tech sector and elite sport are high performing industries. NEC is thrilled to be providing rewarding opportunities for Essendon’s AFLW players to explore and nurture their careers off the football field in the tech sector.”
To celebrate the partnership and to help inspire the next generation of AFLW players, Essendon stars Maddy Prespakis, Brooke Brown and Stephanie Cain hosted a clinic with grade five and six female students from Tullamarine Primary School.
Essendon CEO Craig Vozzo thanked NEC for its ongoing support of the club and the new involvement in the AFLW program.
“We are thrilled to strengthen our partnership with NEC further. They have been excellent support of the entire club since they joined as naming rights partner of the NEC Hangar in 2020,” Vozzo said.
“To have a global brand like NEC invest in our AFLW program will be extremely beneficial for the development of female athletes, both on and off the field.
“We look forward to working with NEC to propel the advancement of all athletes at the Essendon Football Club.”
NEC Australia is also the official ICT Solutions Partner of the Essendon Football Club.
